Use your judgment. These are general activity ideas, not individualized developmental or safety advice. An adult should supervise and adapt every activity to each child’s abilities, materials, and setting. Half-day outings may involve admission, changing hours, weather, or accessibility needs; check details before you go.

Common questions

Using the kids’ activity finder

What ages can I choose?

You can select under 1 year, 12–17 months, 18–23 months, or any age from 2 through 16. Select more than one age for an idea that can work for a mixed-age group.

What is a half-day activity for kids?

It is a flexible idea for an open stretch of family time, such as exploring a museum, visiting a park, or enjoying an unhurried activity together. It is not a fixed schedule or promise that an activity will take a set number of hours. Check venue hours, admission, weather, and access before you go.

How many ideas can I try?

This browser preview provides up to ten activity suggestions on this browser. The count is stored locally on your device. It is not sent to Moments.

Is the activity finder free?

Yes. The web preview is free. The Moments app is being prepared as a free download with its full library; app availability details are on our coming-soon page.

Are these ideas right for every child?

No single activity fits every child or situation. Use the suggested age range as a starting point, supervise children, and adapt or skip anything that does not fit their abilities, interests, or setting.
